Hizbullah representatives reportedly spoke with Shahade's widow and informed her that Nasrallah decided to designate her husband as a Hizbullah martyr, therefore entitling his family to a "martyr allowance."
Following Shahade's killing, Palestinian sources told Ynet that he planned the attack at Mercaz Harav yeshiva in Jerusalem last week, and noted that he also maintained close ties with Hizbullah."
Was Shahade mastermind of yeshiva attack?
Security officials denied the claims regarding Shahade's involvement in the attack, but they did not rule out the possibility that Hizbullah was behind the massacre, which left eight yeshiva students dead.
However, a Palestinian source told Ynet that Hizbullah's contact with the family and assessments by Israeli security officials regarding Hizbullah's involvement in the attack boosts the claim that Shahade was indeed the attack's mastermind.
On Thursday, Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar reported that the terrorist who carried out the attack at the Mercaz Harav yeshiva in Jerusalem last week was sent to assassinate one of the yeshiva rabbis.
The rabbi's identity was not mentioned in the report
